Tipster Tuesday: Giveaways

If you have been following my blog, then you know how much I LOVE getting FREE stuff! Blog giveaways are a fun and easy way to do just that. I personally have won everything from coupons to recently a $70 CSN gift card by entering giveaways! Even though I'm on a tight budget, I can still enjoy things by winning them! =) Plus it's a great way to learn about products and read what others think about them. Here are some tips to help increase your chances of winning a blog giveaway:

1. Read the giveaway post carefully. The details of the giveaway along with specific entry requirements and rules will be found in the giveaway post.
2. Follow entry directions. If the blogger asks you to visit a website, find your favorite item, and leave a comment telling them what it is and the person comments "I love giveaways!" They will be disqualified, because they didn’t follow the rules.
3. Enter on the giveaway post. Be sure to comment on the actual giveaway post. Most bloggers do not accept comments on Facebook or Twitter.
4. Always take advantage of extra entries. Many bloggers will give you chances for extra entries. You usually have to enter a separate comment for each entry. Example: Entry #1 "Like" on Facebook, Entry #2 I'm an email subscriber, etc. Get as many extra entries as you can. You can increase your odds of winning greatly!
5. Look for low entry giveaways. You are more likely to win if you find a blog that is new to giveaways or a giveaway with 100 or less entries. The lower number of entries, the higher your chances of winning!
6. Leave your contact information. Make sure you leave a valid email address with every entry you submit. The email address is the only way a blogger has to contact you. Leave your email in the comments with spaces between the words (so you don’t get any spam). Example: funandfrugalmoms (at) gmail (dot) com
7. Check your email. Check the blog on the day the winner is to be announced and your email. Most bloggers will only give you 48-72 hours to respond before they choose a new winner. Always check your spam or junk folder too.
8. Keep track of giveaway entries. Write down the name of the blog, what giveaway you entered, and the giveaway end date. You don't won't to forget you entered a giveaway, win, and not claim your prize.
9. Enter consistently. The more blog giveaways you enter, the better your chances of winning. Keep at it and the wins should start coming your way!
10. Have fun. Remember to have fun while doing giveaways!
