Today is Mega Swagbucks Friday!

For those of you who don’t know, Swagbucks is an excellent way to earn a little extra money by doing the same things you do everyday. What are Swagbucks? They are "points" you earn by simply doing your normal routine searches using Swagbucks for your search engine. It's that easy!

There are other ways you can earn Swagbucks too:
  • Go to the Swagbucks homepage, click on the "Special Offers" tab in the left column, click on No Obligation Offers, skip through several ads, and you will get 2-4 Swagbucks. You can do this daily!
  • Go to the Swagbucks homepage, scroll down until you see the "Special Offers" section in the middle of the page with pictures. Watch the videos to earn 1-4 Swagbucks.
  • Go to the Swagbucks homepage, click on "Daily Polls" tab and get 1 Swagbuck simply by answering the daily poll.
  • Go to the Swagbucks homepage, click on "Trusted Surveys" and earn Swagbucks for answering surveys. No limit to how many Swagbucks you can earn a day!
  • Be sure to check your messages from TSG and the blog frequently for chances to find Swagcodes to enter and earn more Swagbucks.
  • Invite your friends to Swagbucks and every Swagbuck they win, you'll win as well!
Once you are a Swagbucks member you can earn larger amounts of Swagbucks for your searches on Fridays! You can earn as much as 1000 Swagbucks!

$5 Amazon Credit!

Remember that awesome Parents Magazine 1-year subscription from Amazon I told you guys about on Tuesday? Well it just got better! I received the following email from Amazon:

"To thank you for being an Amazon.com Magazines customer, we've created an exclusive $5.00 code just for you. Use the code from your email at checkout, and you'll see $5.00 deducted from your order total. Please note that this credit may be used to buy any item offered by Amazon.com, but it is not valid on purchases of used items or other products sold by third parties."

I placed the Parents subscription in my cart on Tuesday, but I didn't order it because I wanted to add some more things to my order before checking out. I'm so glad I waited because I just got $5 off my order total! Woohoo! =)

Now I have no idea if this will work, but if you haven't ordered your Parents subscription...try placing the subscription in your cart and wait to see if you get the same email. It's worth a try! If you have already ordered your Parents subscription, be on the lookout for your $5 credit email. I've never ordered a magazine from Amazon before, so I can't figure out how else they think I'm a Amazon Magazines customer?!

The code is good until September 10th...Good Luck!

All You Magazine for Breast Cancer Research!

My friend Meagan at Frugal Fun & Fortune is reaching out and asking us to support a fundraiser raising money for breast cancer research. As part of this amazing fundraiser, you’ll be able to sign up for a All You magazine subscription of 30 issues for only $25, making each issue only 83 cents! That's an incredibly low price! 40% of all magazine sales will go DIRECTLY to Meagan's friend Kim and her walking team, as they participate in the Susan G Komen 3-Day For The Cure walk in Atlanta, Georgia. Plus one of her team member’s company is matching all gifts, so however much money Meagan raises over at Frugal Fun & Fortune will be DOUBLED! All funds raised for the walk go to breast cancer research to help find a cure. The Susan G Komen walk is a 3-day, 60 mile walk to end breast cancer. You can find out more about this awesome event HERE.

Each issue comes with about $100 worth of coupons in it, many of which are high-value coupons you never receive in the newspaper or on the Internet. So if you want to get in on donating for a great cause and snag this great deal on the All You magazine, just head on over HERE to the fundraising page! Click on “Support Us” and start shopping. How can you go wrong with tons of coupons and almost half of your money being put towards finding a cure for breast cancer?!

Tipster Tuesday: Pay your bills online!

Paying my bills online is one way I save money and simplified my finances. I find it so easy and convenient to pay my bills online from the comfort of my home. I pay 12 bills a month online which saves me $5.28 on stamps. That is a savings of $63 a year! May not sound like a large amount, but every little bit adds up. I know I can find a lot more things to spend that $63 on other than stamps. Most utility, electric, phone, mortgage, and cable companies allow online bill paying. Here is the advantages of paying your bills online:

  • Saves time- You don’t have to waste time writing checks, stuffing envelopes, or driving to the post office.
  • Payment scheduling- You will be able to ensure your payment is made on time because you schedule your payment when you choose. This helps avoid any late fees or late payments that could affect your credit score. Many companies offer a bill reminder feature which automatically sends you an e-mail notifying you of an upcoming bill due date.
  • Convenience- No need to load the kids in the car and run to the post office. You will be able to stay home in your pajamas and pay your bills whenever it is most convenient for you. Perhaps while enjoying your morning cup of coffee, naptime, etc.
  • Budget oriented- You can easily access your accounts and review your balances, payments, and history. Online bill paying allows you to save money on postage, envelopes, checks and gas.
  • Environment friendly- By reducing your paper checks and paper bills, you will reduce the amount of clutter and paper waste you have in your home.
Now you may be thinking, "Is paying my bills online safe?" Reports show that people who use online bill paying are 10% less likely to have their identities stolen than those who use paper billing payments. While nothing is completely safe, there are some routine precautions you can take to ensure your online activities are secure:
  • Make sure the Website is secure. Login to your account by entering your user id and password. Notice that the lettering in the URL address will change from "http" to "https." The "s" stands for "secure" and lets you know that the site is indeed secure. You may also find a “VeriSign Trusted” seal or padlock somewhere on the website.
  • Create strong passwords of at least 8 characters that combine letters, numbers, and symbols. Use a different password for each account and change your passwords frequently. NEVER select the option to automatically save your password and login information!
  • Secure your PC with security software such as Norton and keep the software updated.
  • Sign up with a credit-reporting agency such as Equifax to review your credit history and receive alerts when unusual activity occurs on your credit.
So as long as you do everything you reasonably can to secure your PC and take routine precautions in making your online transactions, the benefits of managing your finances online will outweigh any safety concerns. Online bill paying can save you money, time, and add convenience to your life!
